《卡姆依外传》是一部由崔洋一导演指导的动作影片。主人公卡姆依是一名实力非常强大的忍者，有着高超的剑术和坚韧的意志。厌烦杀戮的卡姆依，一为了追寻自己心中的自由，于是选择主动离开忍者队伍，也因此被当作叛徒，从此卡姆依踏上了亡命天涯的生活

一次逃亡途中，卡姆依被一名渔夫救下，到了渔夫家之后，渔夫的妻子也是个逃亡忍者，渔夫的妻子以为卡姆依是来追杀自己的。但是渔夫的女儿却对卡姆依产生了好感。后来渔夫被抓走了，卡姆依和渔夫的妻子一起合力将渔夫救了出来。渔夫一家和卡姆依一同踏上了新的逃生之路。在逃亡的行程中，一行人遇到了许多的困难。之后被传说中的猎杀军团救起，来到了一个岛上，在岛上卡姆依一行人终于过上了平静的生活，卡姆依也与渔夫的女儿互相表明了心意。正当卡姆依在享受人间的温暖之时，追杀卡姆依的忍者部队也悄悄的来到了这里。
